Arrival & night safari, Barão de Melgaço
Fly into Cuiabá and transfer by SUV to Pousada Rio Mutum on the banks of the Cuiabá River. After dinner, head out into the darkness on a jeep safari — flashlights catch the amber glow of caiman eyes scattered across the wetlands, your first taste of the Pantanal's wild abundance.

Horseback riding & sunset on the floodplains
Mornings in the Pantanal belong to the birds. After breakfast, saddle up for a horseback ride through Fazenda Rio Mutum — herons, jabiru storks, and capybaras are your companions. The afternoon is yours before a guided sunset tour across the open plains.

Speedboat journey into the Pantanal interior
At daybreak, step aboard a speedboat for a three-hour river passage toward Porto Cercado — breakfast box in hand, river communities sliding past on both banks. From there, an SUV hauls you down the legendary Transpantaneira Highway, a raised dirt road crossing over 120 bridges, to Pousada UESO. Afternoon: a guided walk through the Pantanal forest with local naturalists who know where to look.

The jaguar hunt — Porto Jofre, all day on the water
This is the day. Before sunrise, you drive to Porto Jofre — ground zero for jaguar spotting — and board a speedboat for a 14-hour river expedition. The Cuiabá River channels here are the highest-probability jaguar habitat on Earth. Your expert guide reads the riverbanks, the bird calls, the slipstream — and when a jaguar appears, time stops. Lunch box included. Return to Pousada UESO for dinner.

Farewell breakfast & transfer to Cuiabá
A last breakfast at the lodge, then an SUV transfer back to Cuiabá Airport (CGB). The Pantanal doesn't let go easily.
Note: Day 4 jaguar sightings depend on wildlife behavior and river conditions — sightings are highly likely at Porto Jofre but cannot be guaranteed. That said, the Cuiabá River corridor has one of the highest jaguar-encounter rates of any guided wildlife experience in the world
